ISTA 7D
ISTA 7D: Temperature Testing for Transport Packaging
ISTA 7D is a development test to evaluate the effects of external temperature exposures of individual packaged products.
Procedure 7D can also be used to perform a comparative analysis on standard or insulated packages versus typical conditions. In this standard, the package and the product are considered both together and separately. It’s important to note that ISTA 7D is designed specifically to test a package’s ability to protect against cycles of temperature conditions rather than shock, vibration, or compression.
Before our lab technicians begin testing, the shipper will determine what the exact product temperature limits are (high and or low) and any acceptable time limits for deviations above or below the temperature limits.
